Welcome! You have begun the challenging journey of therapy by "shopping" for the right therapist. What a struggle this is.
You are about to share the most personal, difficult truths about you to an acquaintance. Knowing a little about the therapist
can help alleviate some of the discomfort, but I believe there is something much more important than that when it comes to
engaging in the therapeutic process with someone you've just met. What will matter short- and long-term is how you feel as you
talk to this person. As a therapist, I can help you feel more comfortable through all the difficult and painful stages of
opening up and working through your issues. I focus on bringing insight and understanding to your internal world,
your self. I want you to feel understood and accepted, that I get you and don’t judge you.
You are important to me from the moment I receive your phone or "e" message. What you will share with me is sacred. Whether you are growth-oriented and want to do in depth work, or you are focused on working out a specific issue, I want to be helpful
to you. If you would like to know more about my background and training, you may take a look at my
curriculum vitae. On my website you will find
articles I have written on topics I specialize in, and will give you a sense of how I think. Areas of focus in my work are:
v Couples Issues
v Anger Management
v Gay/Lesbian Issues
v Adults Abused as Children
v Parenting
|
v Trauma
v Adult Children of Alcoholics
v Infertility
v Anxiety
v Depression
|
Also, you will find groups I am currently offering and a
book therapy section to help you with a few recommendations for specific issues.
My privacy policy informs you of what your rights are to the material you talk about. If you have more specific
questions or would like to talk, please contact me. I look forward to the chance to work with you.
